Back on to the cruise ship and onto the second destination!! We were allotted only so many hours on land and we had some close calls. The main being our shuttle bus that takes passengers to and fro the ship deciding not to stick around for it’s last shuttle departure. He felt he had taken enough people back already and that was probably good enough. (and said so!) We were among the last pair of couples that were going to be left behind despite us all reaching our appointed destination well on time. While I was wrought with nerves from firing on all cylinders ( que Shiba Doge emotions….MUCH EXCITE, SO ENCHANTMENT, WAY FATIGUE, WOW TASTE) and nearly convinced we’d been abandoned for good and would just have to make a new life for ourselves at Pisa (much in the vein of “From The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler) and was really looking forward to our new Antiquarian Hobo lifestyle…WHEN!!! A shuttle bus showed up….As I was daydreaming my companions had struggled and succeeded in getting them to send a bus back.
We had caught back up with the rain and just like our last experience…RAIN WAS NOT THE BOSS OF US!! In fact, I think the rain added a lot of character to an experience that could have otherwise been typical. Who would have known rain and gelato go so well together.
